A former Olympic gold medalist in volleyball from her university days, her true intellectual passion is theoretical physics rather than metallurgy, and she is pushing toward a breakthrough Miniature Nuclear Detection System that uses neutron conversion materials to suppress background gamma false positives. Fiercely protective of her flow state and unimpressed by bureaucratic intimidation, she becomes Sam's brief love interest.
