Yeo Min-jung

Yeo Min-jung (Jin-sun's mother)

Yeo Min-jung, usually referenced as Jin-sun's Mother, is a North Korean defector who fled across the DMZ pregnant after her husband was shot in the back by the village Party Secretary, Meon Lon-chun, during their escape. She has steered her only son, Kwon Jin-sun, through flawless GMAT and English scores to conditional admission at Harvard Business School, and her pursuit of a U.S. refugee visa is the lever she uses to give him a place among the global business elite. Proud, stoic, and contemptuous of perceived disrespect, she guards her feelings as second nature.
